Financial support for your whanau

We know that for many whānau, the cost of Irlen screening and treatment is a real barrier. That's what Irlen North Trust is here for. We provide funding support to Northland whānau to help cover the cost of Irlen screening, diagnostic assessment, and intervention.

Priority is given to whānau who hold a Community Services Card, though we encourage all whānau to apply — funding decisions are made on a case by case basis.

What we can help with

• Irlen screening

• Diagnostic assessment

• Tinted overlays and spectral lenses

• Optometry costs not covered by Enable Subsidy

How to apply

Our application is straightforward and designed to be as easy as possible to complete. You'll be asked for some basic details about the young person you're applying for, and a little about your whānau's situation. There's no wrong way to apply — we'd rather hear from you and work through eligibility together than have a whānau miss out because they weren't sure if they qualified.

A note on contributions: If your whānau is in a position to contribute something toward the cost of assessment and treatment, you're welcome to note that in your application. It isn't required, and it won't affect your eligibility — but it does help us reach more whānau over time.
